Delicate and fragrant steam meatballs "Hedgehogs" will become your lifesaver if you have children in your house! They are happy to eat such a meat dish without whims and tears, and adults will not fail to taste these steamed cakes, because they contain almost no fat. Cooking meatballs is a pleasure, since they do not need to be fried, you do not need to cook minced meat, and if you have a slow cooker in the kitchen, then the process of cooking "Hedgehogs" in general becomes just inconspicuous in time!

Such meatballs can easily be stored in reserve by freezing them in the freezer at one of the cooking stages so that you can always please your family with an appetizing meat dish at the right time for 30 minutes.

For 1 kg of meatballs you need:

- 600 grams of minced meat;

- 250 grams of rice;

- 100 g of wheat flour;

- 20 ml of sunflower oil;

- salt and pepper to taste.

It is best to make the minced meat for cooking, having pork and beef on hand. It is precisely pork and ground beef that is ideal for making meatballs, as it includes the fat content of pork and the aroma of beef. For children, cook the chops from minced chicken, but be sure to add a little bit of lard to it. The easiest option would be to purchase minced meat in a store or on the market, but be sure to check the product before buying for freshness, do not hesitate to smell it!

Since the very long process in cooking is boiling rice, then take care of it first. Boil rice in salted water with vegetable oil until half cooked for 10 minutes. Oil will allow rice not to stick together. It is advisable not to digest the rice, otherwise when re-boiling for a couple, it will become soft and the meatballs will not hold the shape. If desired, you can simply soak the cereal 2 times in boiling water for 15-20 minutes.

Semi-boiled rice poured into a container of minced meat and, adding a little salt and black pepper for the flavor, mix everything together so that the rice is evenly distributed in the stuffing. Many culinary specialists form small balls from mincemeat and roll them in rice, but with this method it is necessary that the rice be slightly dried, as it simply will not stick to the meat.

The finished mass must be cooled for about 15 minutes.

Then add wheat flour on a plate. With hands dipped in water, roll small balls of rice and meat mass and pan them with flour.

At this stage of cooking, you can freeze the meatballs by placing them on a floured board.

Put ready-made “Hedgehogs” in a steamer and stew them in it for about 30-40 minutes.

In preparation, meatballs will increase approximately twice, so try to place them with small intervals between them.

Serve the ready dish for adults with ketchup or mayonnaise, and children - with sour cream. (photo 10)
