Opera singer Anna Netrebko unwittingly provoked an international political scandal

Opera singer Anna Netrebko accidentally provoked an international political scandal. The diva decided to help the Donetsk Opera Theater and transfer 1 million rubles for it. This very large sum was supposed to be transferred to the organization by the Chairman of the DPR Parliament Oleg Tsarev, who, in order to increase the effect of Netrebko’s patronage, raised the flag of New Russia for some reason.

The effect of Tsarev's gesture was overwhelming. In particular, Austria, of which Netrebko is a citizen, is seriously considering depriving her of her citizenship and is threatening to break all musical contracts with her.
