All parents sometimes have thoughts, is it necessary to punish a child, which punishments can have a greater effect, and which ones should not be applied in any way? To get started is to figure out what constitutes a punishment? Actually, the word "punishment" comes from the word "order", namely, the transfer of some very important information. As a rule, the order is done in a strict form. Generally, punishment is only one of many educational methods, but the method is very important, which means it is sometimes necessary to punish naughty children, but it must be done according to the rules.

So, how to punish a child correctly?

- It is impossible to deprive the child of the opportunity to meet the biological or physiological needs. For example, it is very harmful to force a child to spend the whole day at home, doing homework and not letting go for a walk. Even greater harm to the growing body can bring the deprivation of lunch or dinner.

- There should be a kind of code of conduct in the family, so that the child clearly knows the rules of conduct and further sanctions for non-compliance. In this code there should be both points that can not be violated in any way, and those that give freedom of choice in behavior.

- If there are several children, the rules should be the same for everyone, and the punishment should be expected of the child who violated this or that rule.

- You can not insult a child, hang various labels, silently keep silence. And all because such behavior can be equated to physical punishment, because it causes a child to have a feeling of fear, and this feeling can later turn into anger and aggression or apathy and indifference to everything.

The most effective methods of punishment can be considered:

- Ignore method. Since the child is very important parental attention, then as a punishment, you can promise the child not to talk to him or not pay any attention. But this method works only when you do not really fulfill your promise and behave calmly and with dignity.

- Explanatory conversation. This can also be a kind of punishment for a child. We need to find out if he understands what he did wrong, that we need to behave differently. Should be brought up in a small person responsible for their actions.

- Symbolic punishment. For example, to put in a corner or make him sit quietly for some time in the same place.

- Punishment in a natural way. Such punishment happens by itself. For example, a child constantly scatters toys, but in the end he cannot find his favorite thing.

In conclusion, it should be noted that in any of these punishments the child must be firmly confident in your love. It is very important for him to feel that dissatisfaction is caused precisely by his behavior, and not by himself. And most importantly - for any punishment must go forgiveness.
