In a study that lasted more than six years, cardiologists concluded that self-isolation and loneliness often lead to depression in women, and, as a result, affect the physiology of her body. The main manifestations of such physiological changes are an increase in the level of stress hormones in the blood, a change in blood pressure, and a deterioration of blood vessels.
According to experts, single and socially isolated women were 2.7 times more likely to experience a heart attack than their more successful colleagues.
Experts say that in the treatment of cardiovascular diseases, cardiologists must take into account the emotional state of patients, their lifestyle.
